Have you been searching for that perfect painting for your home? If so, look no further than Martin Lawrence Galleries in nearby Schaumburg. Visitors can find original paintings, sculptures, and limited edition graphics here all year long. The gallery also exhibits works by both new and established artists. Notable artists include:
Philippe Bertho is a classically trained artist who creates trompe l’oeil paintings. The words “trompe l’oeil” refer to the practice of creating an illusory third dimension on a flat surface. Philippe invites viewers to complete his visual stories by using their imaginations. His works explicitly center on the intersection between illusion and fantasy, however. So, be prepared to have your conception of reality challenged when you view Philippe’s work. Each piece features mischievous characters in absurd hyper-realist scenarios.
Russian by birth, Liudmila Kondakova became fascinated by traditional art early. Her painting technique is that employed by medieval egg tempera painters. Liudmila graduated from the Grabar Center in Moscow and also attended Russia’s School of Sacred Arts, the Moscow Pedagogical Institute, and the Moscow Art Institute. Her paintings reflect her meticulous attention to detail and in particular, her deep respect for poetic balance.
Francois Fressinier was born in Cognac, France, to parents who were portrait photographers. He takes inspiration from artists such as Rembrandt, Bonnard, and Van Dyke. By and large, his artistic process always begins with a bit of sketching. Francois prefers to work alone in his studio, where his paintings materialize organically. His penchant for figurative, symbolic artwork originates from his childhood exposure to historic ruins and the works of the Old Masters.Back to all posts
