If you’re considering moving to Algonquin, then you’ve probably thought about one of the most important aspects of moving to a new area—that’s right, the food. Algonquin is a great location for those with a refined palate but is also a great spot for those foodies that are looking to save a few bucks. Here are a few local favorites with great food that won’t break the bank.
Daily Projects Café and Eatery
For an upscale, pour-over cup of coffee or a healthy snack, check out this coffee shop on Randall Road. A great place to sit with a book or chat with a friend, the walls and shelves are packed with coffee-making equipment—this place is serious about crafting a premium cup. Try the vanilla cold brew on a hot summer day, or if you’re looking for some food, the avocado toast with sesame seeds, sprouts and beets are very tasty.
The décor in Larsa’s Kitchen is fairly straightforward and casual, but don’t be fooled—this place is turning out authentic, delicious Mediterranean food at very reasonable prices. Larsa’s is also a great place for vegetarians looking for more than just a salad. The vegetarian platter and hummus pita are delicious and meat-free. Some favorites among the meat eaters are the beef and chicken shwarma.
Bella’s Short Stack
For a classic diner feel in Algonquin, you can’t beat Bella’s. The small space, along with the classic countertop and friendly staff create a very welcoming environment for a quick breakfast or a long brunch with friends. Make sure to get here early on the weekends, the wait can be a bit long—but that’s just another sign of how great this place is!
