The Algonquin Public Art Commission Celebrates Local Art

At our Algonquin apartments, residents enjoy a vibrant and beautifully-landscaped suburban community, offering the best of apartment living. One thing we love about our small town is the Public Arts Commission, “fostering the placement of public art throughout the community” through the Algonquin Public Art Master Plan.

Algonquin Public Art

One of the first things many people notice about our town is the beautiful collection of artwork prominently displayed around Algonquin Village. Among the sculptures, murals, and mosaics, you’ll find fascinating pieces from local artists. You’ll also find work by regional, national, and international artists. With the new year, the Public Arts Commission has arranged to put out new works for us all to enjoy. On your next walk around town, try to spot some of these new pieces among old favorites.

Create Your Own Gallery

As you stroll around town, we recommend snapping photos of your favorite pieces of artwork to bring home. Here’s how to take better photos with your phone, so you really showcase the art. There’s a few ways to display it. If you’ve got a blank wall that needs filling, here’s how to make a gallery wall. Or, you might enjoy turning your photos into a book, so you can appreciate Algonquin public art any time.

Student Art Exhibit

The Public Arts Commission also features homegrown art, with the 9th Annual Student Art Exhibit. This year, the middle school art show took place virtually. You can still enjoy works by these budding artists online at the Public Arts Commission website. The talent will amaze you.

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to call home, we invite you to learn more about our welcoming community at Algonquin Square. We would love to arrange a tour so that you can see all that our luxury Algonquin apartments have to offer.
