Did you know that some of America’s best restaurants are located in historic buildings? Jasters Craft Beer & Cocktails is no exception. In fact, it’s located in the 100-year-old Jaster Building. The building was constructed by Joseph Jaster, an enterprising German immigrant. Joseph’s family immigrated to Crystal Lake in 1893, and Joseph eventually set up his grocery and market business on the first floor. Today, Jasters Craft Beer & Cocktails perfectly highlights the Jaster Building’s timeless design and historic character.
About Jasters Craft Beer & Cocktails
Jasters Craft Beer & Winery opened its doors in 2013. The owner, Adam Harjung, wanted the restaurant and bar to stand out from others of its kind. He succeeded in his goal by offering designer cocktails, a unique small plate menu, and a rotating roster of craft brews to his customers.
Adam’s restaurant is an undeniably cozy place. Candles flicker on dark wooden tables, and plush seats complement turquoise leather booths. Meanwhile, blues or classic rock selections play in the background.
What’s On The Beverage Menu?
Craft beer is the specialty of the house, and Jasters always keeps impressive Midwest choices on hand. The draft list changes regularly, and seasonal options from breweries like Three Floyds Brewing Co. liven up the bill of fare. The bar also offers unusual brews and is happy to provide tasting portions.
Jasters’ artisanal cocktails draw the greatest praise from locals. The popular handcrafted cocktails offer a twist on the ordinary by combining juices and spices in unique ways. Ingredients like elderflower, basil, and maple syrup turn an ordinary craft beer into a libation fit for the gods.
Great Food Selections At Jasters Craft Beer & Cocktails
Adam continues his flair for the distinctive with signature food options, such as buffalo chicken flatbreads, 16-hr BBQ brisket, and gin-spiced salmon.
You’ll also find burgers, sandwiches, and sliders on the menu. “The Butcher Board” is one of the most popular items, offering a satisfying selection of vintage cheeses, whiskey salami, prosciutto, and bread. You may also want to try the Maple Leaf Farms duck for something completely out of this world.
As can be seen, Jasters is the perfect destination for good food and great beer.Back to all posts
